Does anyone know if the Ö÷²¥´óÐã has decided which people are going to present Chelsea this year? I usually enjoy the show, but last year was sometimes so bad it was embarrassing. I don't think I could take another year of a particular little blonde girlie presenter with no knowledge or experience of gardening whatsoever. I just hope that this time they stick to people on the team who know what they're talking about. There are a lot of excellent gardening presenters about so it's difficult to understand why the Ö÷²¥´óÐã doesn't make use of them

There is a thread lower down which confirms that AT will be the main presenter.

Apparently the Ö÷²¥´óÐã thinks Nicky gives popular appeal to Chelsea but most posters here disagree. For the one week a year we have Chelsea we'd prefer knowledgeable gardeners to present it.

After all, we wouldn't expect them to drop such a pappy presenter into a major golf tournament or a world athletics tournament or to commentate on a snooker championship or Wimbeldon so why should the world's most important garden show have to have second rate commentators?

I think it`s a little unkind to call her second rate. Personally, I think she is a good presenter but I do take your point that it would be beneficial to have a good understanding of gardening.
The Ö÷²¥´óÐã tends to do this a lot. Last year we had Clara Balding presenting the Rugby League Challenge Cup on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã. She was lovely but knew nowt about Rugby !

At least Claire Balding has a background in sport, understands the competitive spirit and can make intelligent comments. NC can hardly tell a rose from a tulip even after several years at Chelsea.

As I said in my previous post, I take your point !
