Thank goodness Monty Don is back doing Gardners World. His soothing voice and relaxing style, along with his friendliness and simple approach, are perfect viewing after a hard week at work and really inspires you to go out into your own garden - no matter how your patch of earch might be. Other people have mentioned Toby and Alys (someone said 'down to earth?') - far too posh and elitist for my likely. The 'presents made from tea cups' feature was the final straw and I have watched it since - until yesterday. Fantastic to see you back Monty, and with your old team back from the cold.

    Welcome back Monty!

It was so very good to see MD looking well and presenting GW from his own garden. This winter seems never ending but with MD back at the helm, I feel spring has finally arrived. I loved the overview of the garden and am in awe of how he and his wife have found a vision for their garden from a complete blank canvas (I'm stumped with my small plot!). I'm pleased that MD will be working in his garden alone - our gardens are our most personal space and our relationship with them and with everything in them is almost visceral. I would hate to have someone making decisions or working in my garden so having the team working in it would, IMO, be an intrusion.

CK was wonderful as CK always is.

I don't quite see how the RdT/JS spot fits into the new programme - it looked like an 'add on' and is bitty. MD in his garden would contribute more than enough (IMO) to fill a 30 minute slot and the focus on one garden, throughout the season, will provide continuity.

I'm really looking forward to the arrival of spring and seeing the garden unfurl. My one plea to the Ö÷²¥´óÐã ...... please, please don't throw GW over for every tennis, football, golf, snooker match there is this season. For once, just for once, let the programme stay on air for the whole of the gardening season.
