I'm SO pleased to have Monty back!
I stopped watching GW after the first few programmes hosted by the previous team because the horticultural content of the progs was getting dumbed down -i recall one episode where showing us how to plant bulbs into assorted, decorative teacups took up a large chunk of the programme. And we don't need any more 'lifestyle' programmes, thanks.
In my opinion Monty is a proper gardener's gardener, who communicates his sound knowledge as an adult, to adults. It's great to also have the pleasure of Carol Klein's enthusiastic contribution.
Happy days- not just the arrival of Spring to celebrate but Monty's return too.

Well I enjoyed the last 3 mins....The rest was overcast gardening for the esate owners and Carols section seemed to have been lifted from the world of design....Thought the programe was poor.

    Me too....figs, limes.statues...excuse me!!
Spring has been here for weeks, why does he say it's just starting? Pleeeaaasssseeee buck up the ideas, move the pace along, show something relevant to most of us, give us a lead not "I make it up as I go along" and for gawd's sake stop apologising for the state of the garden or we'll all begin to believe it is a shambles!! VERY POOR STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monty can't have been watching GW!

We all know that when you dig up a wee square of lawn, that's your veg patch...

I was very disappointed after the first two shows. Last weeks show was miles better and I had high hopes. After this weeks show my heart has sunk again. I'm finding the whole thing rather dull, it's rather depressing stuff and I'm in serious danger of stopping watching GW after over twenty years of never missing a show! Please please please don't let that happen!

I can't put my finger on why...but it is an incredibly DULL programme each week!! I don't like MD as a gardener or presenter but that's NOT the problem and I can't put my finger on what the problem is. Why is it so dull and uninspiring??? :/

You may want to consider Lowena that the reason you are uninspired is down to you !
It appears that the programme is not to everyones taste. Maybe you should stop watching if it`s bugging you that much

Or maybe she like many should just battle for a more interesting and more rounded program .

I believe it already is !
And there are lots of opinions here which back that up.

    Define more rounded please?
From sowing annuals and patching lawn, io pruning old figs - that seems pretty balanced?
I'm peeved that so many posters seem to want the progamme tailored to their
    weather, location and their preferences!
    It's not possible is it?
So spend your energy lobbying for more gardening progs, moaning about on here will achieve nothing at all, will it?
Well, moaning makes some people happier I suppose...

Ooh, the vitriol :D she'll be reaching for the smelling salts soon!!
No one is crass enough to want specifically tailored programmes, but, thanks KFG, I DO want a more rounded programme.Pleached limes, productive figs, statuary gardens - not very relevant to what most people are tending to at this time of year.........very busy gardening time of year!!
I have a right to express my opinion, or, how else are the Ö÷²¥´óÐã going to know what viewers think? I have steered away from placing blame....I just can't understand why the programmes are routinely IRRELEVANT and DULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, guys, but I think GW is still boring. It has to have wide appeal and it doesn't. Geoff Hamilton must be turning in his grave.
