Next Friday AT is back on ITV 8pm and Monty on Ö÷²¥´óÐã8.30. Will we finally find out where gardeners loyalty really lies? I wonder who will get the most comments?
I am looking forward to an hour of gardening on TV. They will both be different types of programmes, but hopefully each will be good in its own way.
It seems as though AT will be the glue that holds the programme together.
There's Matt James who's in charge of building and water features, Valentine Warner in charge of Grow your Own, Charlotte Uhlenbroek in charge of wildlife and Laetitia Matlouf who's in charge of smaller projects, so what will AT be doing?
The link presenter it seems. I will reserve judgement till after the programmes aired.

Does anybody know of these people I am inviting into my living room?
Laetitia is the new Alys, Charlotte is the new Rachel, Matt is the new Joe, AT is the new Monty.

I am sure Charlotte will be the new David Attenbrough. I am sure it was her who did the wildlife programs. Matt james has been on before but i am not sure of the other two.We will see.
Forgot to say AT will probably checking his bank balance as it must be increasing as fast as a Russian Vine the amount of work he has had recently.

No contest, perhaps a good opportunity to put Gardeners' World out of its misery.
>Matt james has been on before<
He did the City Gardener series on C4. All v.good designs and planting schemes. He has (or had) a silly laugh though
Laetitia has a book on gardening, allegedly of the 'hello flowers, hello trees' type of whimsy.
Matt James should be OK if his City Gardens programme is any guide. Valentine W has done series on seasonal cooking so should be interesting on Grow Your Own. Don't know Laetitia.
We'll just have to wait and see won't we?

"This week Monty Don visits the iconic garden of impressionist painter Claude Monet at Giverny…..Yawn!! And shares his tips for growing culinary herbs. "
or
"Allan Titchmarsh presents a brand new series how to get the most from your garden no matter what the size. Today, he demonstrates how to create a traditional British garden."
Be afraid MD!
Visiting Giverny using MY licence fee!!! To what end? Will we see a rash of suburban bridges and waterlilies?
Easy pickings for Alan and ITV methinks

Be very afraid
I wonder if AT will be giving tips on how to look after your box hedging
Seriously though AT''s looks like gardening program and not just I went on a junket and saw a garden on the way
Monet's garden is in northern France so porbably quicker and cheaper to get to than some parts of Britain such as Northern ireland, Wales, Scotland or the Scilly isles. Maybe that's why we see so little of those corners of Britain on GW. Anyway, I haven't been myself so am looking forward to seeing Giverny and the big news is that the new head gardener is English, not French, so that is surely of interest.
I'm looking forward to some sumptuous planting in rich and harmonious colours and there should be plenty to inspire us at home. Newer gardeners will surely appreciate advice on growing herbs.
That being said, I'm also looking forward to AT's new programme on ITV. Pity it's a short series. We need lots more gardening on TV as there are so many aspects to cover and, as others have said, if we can have constant repeats of programmes on antiques and property, why not gardening too?
Gardener's World is not the place to show us people swanning off on jollies ( paid for by us).It is a mainstream "what to do and how to do it " programme. What is the point of it coming from MD's garden if it is not being used to give us ideas and show us what is being done/evolving? GQT is going the same way - always off visiting somewhere and talking to irrelevant people instead of doing what the programme should be doing - advising, showing, discussing.
Get these programmes back on track before they lose any semblance of their core values.
I feel I have seen very little of MD's garden, and seen even less happen to it/in it.Get back to basics....asap!
To be honest, the garden shows all the signs of the owner frequently 'swanning off on jollies'.
But that's just my jaundiced view!

If the program is as good as the garden it is showing you will not be dissapointed. No it is not mine but I have seen it and it is delightful and shows what can be done with an ordinary garden by innovative people However I doubt we will get to see it all as usually so much is cut out.
Can reccommend it for a visit from the yellow book and hope the rest of he series will feature more interesting gardens for us to see.
Thanks EH
