Sorry, have been trying to hold back all series, but this show is just dreadful. I know it's not for serious gardeners etc, etc, but I just don't understand their planting choices for those poor novice gardeners, ie lots of instant effect annuals that will last weeks and no climbers any where on those fences!
Did anyone think the transparent gold fish pond looked good? - plonked in the middle of that £10,000 garden with pump and plastic black plant pots showing. I like contemporary gardens, but I thought that was really naff.
At least the artificial lawn negated the need for a shed for the lawnmower
Apart from the natural stone it was all unmitigatedly awful.
Plastic grass? Perspex loungers? Plastic pond? Either it'll go green with algae or stay clear long enough for the poor goldfish to get sunburn. And those hydrangeas plonked in tiny narrow borders will die of thirst.
I don't see where the 10,000 went.
What a shocking waste of 10k! It reminded me of a Big Brother garden.

Horses for courses. All the people who had their gardens done are of the "want it yesterday" generation, and the gardens were simply made for TV. No doubt plenty of fresh new ideas in gardening, but all in one place? Would be interesting to see how the gardens turn out in a years time, or even three months after the cameras left.
Or even just a week or two if they didn't have the wit to water the real plants and sweep the plastic lawns.
