Changes to the 主播大秀 Gardening messageboard

Many of the 主播大秀's factual websites will be changing over the next twelve months. These changes will make our content easier to access and better in quality, but they will also mean we do less of some things - including messageboards.
The 主播大秀 Gardening messageboard will shortly be closing. The board's contents will not be deleted; all of your discussions, debates and information will remain on the site for your and others' reference. Closure will take place at 11am on Thursday 26 April 2012.
Thank you for being part of this online community and for your contributions to some great conversations.

Well, Amen to that....can't say I鈥檒l miss them much!
They've been but a shadow of their former selves for a very long time now, due in no small part by the actions of the administrators.
Why not do a proper job and pull the plug on Gardeners' World too?

Well I'm not surprised. It is more than likely that the 主播大秀 are well and truly fed up of the constant whingeing and whineing from a small band of posters that pop up every week with a gripe about something or other. (you all know who you are) It's a shame that a lot of people come on here to learn about their hobby and have to wade through a diatribe of personal abuse against some presenters such as recent comments about Monty's hair colour and whether he uses colourant.
What on earth has that to do about the content of of a gardening programme ???
As i've said a few times on this board before, if you don't like the programme, don't watch it !!
I will miss this board for the invaluable advice that has been given to me by a lot of honest posters who are keen to pass on their knowledge, thank you one and all. What I won't miss is the weeky moanings.Link to this forum: Changes to the 主播大秀 Gardening messageboard

I must admit, I never have bothered with the TV and Radio part of the messageboards.
The few posts I did read, were, well, bordering on the line of hate and pettiness, which IMO were rather silly giving thats its only a PROGAMME for goodness sake.

听 I think that you are missing the point here. This gardening message board is not just about commenting on gardening programmes on the 主播大秀, a lot of people come to these boards to seek answers to various horticultural issues that they have likme garden design, gardening techniques, growing your own vegwetasbnles etc. Do you seriously think that you can pacify us with welcoming us on to a board which is just for discussing TV programmes.

THE TIME for "Changes to the 主播大秀 Gardening messageboard" IS APPROACHING FAST and I think, if we wish to remain a coherent community, we probably need a designated thread on a specific board where we can give each other help and support.
I have looked at the suggested Archers but found it to be all over the place, simply because it's an "off topic" place. However, we need to be quick about our decisions and possible requests/actions.
As Peta has said, the Points of View board will be fine for posting our opinions, etc.,relating to the programme itself, but current rules would consider anything else to be "off topic".
I replied to Peta, mentioning that the PoV board also contains a specific threat, which has nothing to do with the 主播大秀, entitled 鈥淣on 主播大秀 television chat thread鈥, and perhaps the PoV board can offer to the millions of us who watch GARDENERS' WORLD such a thread. I believe for the purposes of choosing PoV material, the non-主播大秀 thread is non-existent, which would also be fine for those of us who simply need a similar thread for help, advice and support.

As a long-time member of these boards I am very saddened that the gardening cameraderie and community here is being destroyed. These boards have helped me through some very dark times over the years; I am now bereft.

Most of us are equally saddened, Yakram, though it would appear that one or two have been praying for this for a long time. Some of them now suggest alternative messageboards, where they reign supreme.
If you really care about what happens to our messageboard community, why don't you write to Peta - www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mb... - asking if we could possibly have just one thread on the 主播大秀 Television messageboard, just like the Non-主播大秀 tv chat tread, which she has sanctioned.

Of course, the current rules say that messages should be 主播大秀 programme based; however, the Non-主播大秀 tv chat thread isn't, so it would hardly be a new departure.

I hear what you're saying, Lydia, but the Food Messageboard, where I have posted on occasion, was never really linked to a 主播大秀 cookery programme. The gardening messageboard is.
As for continuity of dialogue, let us have our thread and we will manage fine. The film people, it seems to me, are arguing to put across their superior point of you; our aim will be, as usual, to give help/support to a fellow gardener.

I've been posting on the Gardening message board since 2002 when I was so moved to voice my opinion about Chris Collins' Plantsman series I trawled the 主播大秀 online service and found it quite by accident - and what a brilliant board it was. Sad to say, it all went downhill when the new board layout was implemented and the moderators became more vociferous around the time of the Grid fiasco.
I will continue to post my opinion about GW and other 主播大秀 gardening programmes over on the PoV board where I hope many of you will do likewise. I've had so much pleasure reading what you all think and engaging in a good debate and sincerely hope to see you over there where I hope there will be more of the same.

How tremendous to see David K, straight in there, kicking off, never happy, always whinging, never right, always sure, hang on is that next doors kids, moan moan moan, blah blah blah, thats outrageous, who's fault is this, now hey thats a personal attack... and another thing... and another thing... anyone else I can hurt....
Just thank god this wasn't ink becasue what a waste, what a waste. The changes to the 主播大秀 and all other public sector organisations hit real people in the pocket. To reply with the kind of snear that david K does is vile.
David, true to form, will ask the very people he attacks (moderators) to defend him. the people who attack the european court of human rights would be the first people to appeal to the court for protection. The indignant are alwats the most preposterous.
I hope that everyone who is affected by the changes at the bbc finds work elsewhere and gets throught his period ok. If you've worked for the bbc, you have skills that are clearly very much in need elsewhere. Good luck

Of course it did man, however you are only good at beating on those in the media spot light who cannot reply. Lots of people who use message boards are bullys. I only came on these boards in the first place becasue of how horrible you were being about people on Diurmid Gavin's Garden School. You're hardly going to start a row here with me- are you?
You know I'm right- everyone knows I'm right- and you do care about that David.
