  As I'm recovering from surgery for a slipped disc in my upper spine I can't actually do much gardening at the mo, I've been having a trawl through old threads.
  
  A lot of the good 'uns were OTGF but we also had some good ones on specific plants - loads on clematis, including this one with a handy accounting method for clemaholics -
  
  and this early one on sweet peas -
  
  and mustn't forget the heucheraholics -
  
  Then there were threads on hanging baskets -
  
  
  
  
  
  Controversy has popped up occasionally with trolls, sock puppets and unpleasantness but here's one protest rallying thread of note demanding the reinstatement of Lottie who was innocent -
  
  One strange poster called WAV advocated racism against imported people and plants in the UK so we started escape threads -
  
  and which led to strange hobbies and "craft" moments.
  
  In honour of CB's notoriety and general fan club on here, Rhoda declared -
  and invited us all to a day trip to visit CB -
  
  and we also had the occasional party on the boards
  
  
  Of course, there were also lots of shorter threads giving specific advice and comments with the traditional good humour and generosity of posters on these boards but the above threads are the ones that stick in the memory for their spontaneity and fun.

  Thanks CG. I had the op in mid March and just have to be careful for a while so I don't strain things but it is lovely to be pain free and mobile again.
  
  Please make any further comments on the Design board version as Lottie has added another link there and there are other old threads being pinged to prod our memories.
  
  Hope to see you over on the Gardeners World boards where many posters are regrouping.

  there were also some excellent postings from those very fine fellows mr Pig, Mr Mycowaz and the mysterious Mr Gartenmeister- they are still my favourites.

  Oh those were the days eh Joey!!
  
  One of my favourite episodes was when Derek Pig suddenly changed his name to Rhodadendron causing a certain amount of mischief!!!
