Brian Harvey Underwater Gardeing

  It is often said that the bottom of the sea is a garden- although who says this I have no idea- and the diversity of life down there is quite astounding.
  
  I'm sure some of you designers would find great inspiration from some of natures wonders, amongst all the debris and rubbish and sewage.
  
  I especially think that designers and gardeners in Gloucestershire- who sufferd so awfully in those shocking floods- may like to see how nature copes after a massive deluge of slurry from the Mersey Sludge Boat has dumped its vile cargo, a situation not dissimilar to that which those poor people in Hull found themselves in.
  
  That's why i think that Brian Harvey would make a superb underwater garden design supremo- He has all the qualifications you need to go deep sea diving and even owns his own Bell Jar submersable - labelled "BRIAN 17"- and what is more, I read an article where he interviewed a marine biologist- and I was impressed by Brian's knowledge of the subject.
  
  With the need for inspiration never more apparent in the field of garden design, I believe the time is right to let Brian Harvey help solve our design conundrums- by dropping him in his Bell Jar in the Irish Sea. It would make a lovely article for Gardens Illustrated which could also include a CD of some of the songs Brian records- at the bottom of the sea.
