Who were ancient Russians?

We have heard of Ancient Indian history dated back to 5000-10000 years.Chinese,egyptian,mesapotomian,greek civilisations are also equally old.Nothing has been heard anything about Russia?Who were Ancient Russians?Someone who knows this please post

The burial of an old man and two children in the vicinity of Moscow circa 25000 bce has been attributed to the Gravettian culture.These people migrated to many parts of Europe including Spain.

I hope that you are not seeking for genetic or geographical support against people living now in the geographical entity of the nowadays Russia of the end of the twentieth century, and "seem", and I emphasize "seem", to differ from other citizens in that geographical entity or the geographical neighbourhood, while they differ in physiognomy or culture or language or religion? If you want to know about the problem I mention, have a look on the History Hub.
The geographical Russia is nowadays the biggest country on earth. It covers on the north halve of the globe nearly the half of the length of the circle on that lattitude.
Findings at the Dnjestr, Dnjepr, Don, Krim, Jenisei and Baikal lake of hunters with pictures carved already into bones of human and animal figures, about 30,000 years ago. From 20,000 years ago female "Venus" figures.
In the early-stone-age, hunters follow the retreating ice to the north and in the south you have the agricultural revolution. North of the Black Sea and in the Krim in about 4,000 BC: the first ornaments of gold and cupper from neighbouring cultures. Kaukasus was the borderland.
In the Bronze Age in East Siberia some culture at the same time as the Skyts (spelling).
At the same time of the first Kiev imperium you had in the neighbourhood of the Jenisei the first Kirgize (spelling) imperium.
From Hungary till Mandchuria horsemen-people (translation?) since first millenium BC. Kimmerians and Skyts (spelling). From 700 to 400 BC the Skyts, rich by their trade with the Greeks, the leaders in the South of Russia. In the same area later the Sarmates the connection between South Russia and the Far-East (China).
Old-Slaves from the area of the Vistula. then a whole chapter about how the Slaves spread over Europe. An item about the Chazars in about 600 AD, nomads of Turkish-Tataric origins.
The start of the unification of the Slavic peasant populations was ignited by the Scandinavian Warenger (spelling) people, who learned as rulers the warlike skills to the Slavic population and united them.
And there we are already at Rjurik and the more modern history of Russia.

They are definately not huns or mangols...To me it looks like they doesnt have their own brand of lifestyle,culture or anything until church was influential unlike chinese,indians,egyptians and greeks who had their own mark..

The Russians are descended from Slavs, Huns, Vikings, Turks, Persians, Mongols, Balts, Finns, Jews, Germans...need I go on?
In other words, like all people living in a BIG country with a LONG history their ethnic identity is completely mixed up! -

How ancient are you referring to? I believe that most centres of trade originated in viking colonisation circa 7-11th centuries.

The name 鈥淩ussians鈥 didn鈥檛 exist in that time period. There was neither state nor community which could be exactly connected with modern Russians. Linguistic ancestor of Russian language 鈥 Common Slavonic 鈥 was used by a variety of tribes (鈥渂arbaric鈥 for contemporary Greeks/Romans). Those tribes were in permanent interaction with their Celtic, German and Scythian neighbors. Dialect differences started to appear from the last centuries BC and resulted in formation of modern Slavonic languages: Russian, Polish, Serbian etc. -

I think you want to say between 2000 and 100 BC.
The "Steppe nomads" (spelling).
The oldest culture of that kind is this of Sredny Stog (circa 4400-3500 BC). Later they started to use horses as riding-animals. Around the start of the second millenium they used light two wheel chariots drawn by horses. That expanded to the whole Middle-East.
Later best known are the Skyts from about 600 BC. The Huns appeared from 370 AD and are thus outside your window. The Skyts had the Kimerians (spelling?) from the South of the nowadays Russia pushed as far as Assyria in the Middle-East. They came under pressure from the Sarmates in the 4th Cent. BC and were conquered by Philip of Macedonia. Till the first century BC. you had the Sarmatian (spelling) empire and culture.

Correction: message 4.

That has to stay of course at the end, after Rjurik.
It was of course in the 9th century and was as the Kiev empire destroyed by the Mongols.
