Maybe someone here could help me out. A couple of months ago, I'd bought this eagle on a market. The salesman told me it to be an old peace, which his grandfather gave him. So I've looked it up on the internet, coming to the Aguila Roman at the closets. Is there anyone I can sent some pictures to, to look at it?

    Thank you
    Fatin

Ps. This is one of them

I can't load photograph its blocked but my guesses from the description is that it may be a miniture of the Roman Eagle standard but also the other common eagle miniture was the Nazi eagle so be careful. Also family crests commonly had eagles on them so it could be a copy of the crest often worn by rich people. Is it gold or a cheap metal, this could tell you a lot about what it is as the better metal the newer it is probably from. Anyway i hope this helps!

Eagles in this pose are also common in various forms on the American market as the national symbol and it may have been produced for that market.

    Hello White_Flower

A bronze eagle like this is, as Kurt says, almost certainly American and probably dates from anywhere between the 1880s and 1950s.

It is possible, however, that it is French Second Empire - maybe a Moigniez. In which case this would date it back to the 1860s and make it quite valuable.

Only an expert could give a definitive answer though.

    regards

Thank you guys so much for answering my question....

I actually think it's very old and not made of modern metal. It looks very similar to the eagle placed on the coin of Caesar though….

Sorry the site was blocked, I’ve placed a new one, this should work
