this may sound stupid but howcan i find out if this story my Grandma told me is true.
In the 1914 -18 war she aws employed by the local
council to sweep the streets
One of her tasks was to paint white the gutters and lamp-posts to help guide people on there way
during the blackout.
Becoming bored she began painting everthing in sight letterboxes postboxes etc; and of course she got the sack
Iwould love to know how much truth is in it
