A rare opportunity to hear Smetana鈥檚 masterly tragic opera Dalibor under our Czech Conductor Laureate Ji艡铆 B臎lohl谩vek. With striking echoes of Fidelio, the story transports us to 15th-century Prague, where Dalibor is imprisoned having avenged the death of his musician friend Zden臎k. The sister of his victim, Milada, is touched by his plight and disguises herself as a boy violinist in order to enter the gaol 鈥�

Ji艡铆 B臎lohl谩vek, whose long and fruitful relationship with the 主播大秀 Symphony Orchestra has borne a string of award-winning Czech music recordings, returns to conduct this powerful music drama.
