About This Event

Berlioz originally presented an early version of The Childhood of Christ as the work of 鈥楧ucr茅鈥�, a composer he had created as a hoax.

Presenter Shahidha Bari is joined by Nick Groom to discuss the long and rich tradition of literary hoaxes. Readings from some of the most creative and audacious will be accompanied by an exploration of the tricksters, fraudsters and counterfeiters behind them.
