Charlie's Angels DVD (2000)

Those crazy "Charlie's Angels" high-kick it onto DVD with a fantastic array of extras that should keep any devotee of the feisty threesome more than happy.

Columbia TriStar can almost always be relied upon for impeccable transfers, and this is no exception in terms of picture quality.

The same goes for the 5.1 sound mix, which cleverly separates the music bass line into the sub woofer, leaving the melody to play around with the main speakers. They're also kept busy with the many head-turning effects that thunder around your living room during the action sequences.

This DVD is stuffed with featurettes, and virtually all of them revolve around the shouting, clapping energy monster that is director Joseph McGinty Nichol, or 'McG' as you'll come to know him. In fact he even gets his own showcase entitled 'Getting G'd Up', where various cast members try to explain the impact that he's had on their lives. Aside from his character analysis, you can also check out every aspect of the Angels, from what they wear, to the world they live in. In addition, there's footage of the gruelling martial arts and wire-work training they underwent, supervised by "The World of the Drunken Master" choreographer, Yuen Cheung Yan.

If you're left wanting more, then you can indulge in the music videos included on the DVD, along with a host of deleted scenes, outtakes, and trailers on what is a very comprehensive and slick disc.
