Bunty Aur Babli (Bunty And Babli) (2005)
PGContains mild bad language

It's been a long time coming but finally Bollywood giant Amitabh Bachchan has teamed up with his son Abhishek in Shaad Ali Sehgal's comedy caper Bunty Aur Babli. Bachchan Sr plays Police Commissioner Dashrath Singh, a sarcastic cop hot on the trail of elusive con artists Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan) and Babli (Rani Mukerji). Brimming with fun, frolics and fruity gags, this Bonnie and Clyde-style masala movie will most certainly leave your ribs tickled.

Suffocated by their small town existence, daydreamers Vimmi (Mukerji) and Rakesh (Abhishek Bachchan) run away to the city in the hope of becoming a beauty pageant queen and wealthy businessman. But when lack of money becomes an obstacle to success, the duo adopt the alter egos of Bunty and Babli and begin to collect funds by deception. Before long the audience is dragged along with the crooks into a world of colourful disguises and double-crosses so primitive they wouldn't fool a two year old.

"MORE ENERGY THAN A DOZEN DURACELL BUNNIES"

Rushing from one crime scene to another, Seghal's frenetic direction ensures he gets his money's worth from Mukerji and Bachchan Jr's madcap antics. With more energy than a dozen Duracell bunnies, it's a wonder the pair don't bounce off the screen altogether. Even the wry one-liners and brute force of Amitabh's policeman aren't enough to slow down the speeding Bunty and Babli express. Sadly, this leaves less time for the lead pair's quirky but charming chemistry, Aishwarya Rai's sassy cameo, and the great Amitabh Bachchan delivering one of his best comic performances of recent years.
