What can I use instead of a…
… Lemon juicer?
If you don’t have a lemon juicer you can use some kitchen tongs to squeeze it. You’ll be able to squeeze harder and cleaner than if you used your hands!
… Cooling rack?
If you don’t have a cooling rack, turn an empty box of eggs upside down to place a hot baking tray or cake tin on top of.
… Rolling pin?
If you don’t have a rolling pin, you can use a glass bottle, such as an oil or wine bottle.
… Steamer?
If you don’t have a steamer you can place a metal sieve into a pan of simmering water, making sure the bottom doesn’t touch the water. Sit the saucepan lid on top of the sieve and you’ve got a home-made steamer!
