From the very beginnings of The Big Chill, the organisation has always maintained a reason for why it is.

The Big Chill is a celebration of music, art, dance, film, creativity and, above all, life.

Its Beliefs

This pretty much sums it up. The festival is about life and the love of life. It is not just the music that attracts its audience. It's the experience as a whole.

Outstanding Natural Beauty

The environment plays a very important part.

The Big Chill endeavours to take the festivals to sites of outstanding natural beauty and ensures that the beautiful surroundings will be looked after.

Festival goers are provided with bin liners for both general rubbish and for recyclable waste on entry to the site.

With recycling posts around the site it is hard for the attendees to forget.

Leave No Trace

The 'Leave No Trace' campaign is gently publicised around the site and in the programme and even the little teeny things are taken care of by everyone there.

Cigarette butts are picked up by the very conscientious festival community and placed either in provided 'bin your butt' empty camera film cases or by the huge team of dedicated litter pickers that work continuously throughout the festival.

It's not at every festival that you can wake up in the morning and find absolutely no litter around the site, not even a stinky fag butt!

Relax in the Body and Soul Area

Your body and soul is also catered for at Big Chill events.

An area within the festival is sectioned off, exquisitely decorated and inhabited with professional therapists and practitioners who provide the chiller with massages and treatments throughout the weekend.
