Next time you switch on your TV, spare a moment to look at the credits.

Two men who live in Malvern, Dave Lowe and Paul Farrer, pretty much write every soundtrack you hear.

Paul Farrer

Paul was born in Worcester in 1973.

After leaving school at 16, he began working in a professional recording studio, while continuing to play piano, clarinet, violin, saxophone and trumpet.

He began producing jingles for radio stations and set up his own company, before starting work for television.

You are the Weakest Link

His most notable work has been composing the music to the 主播大秀 programme 'The Weakest Link'.

'The Queen of Mean'.

Currently, the show is being played in 96 countries across all time-zones: "Every second of every day of the year, The Weakest Link music is being broadcast somewhere on the planet!"

Other work

As well as being the soundtrack to one of the 主播大秀's most successful TV shows, Paul has also composed the music for the Jerry Springer show, Dog Eat Dog, Riot Cops, Torvill & Dean's Dancing on Ice and The Academy Awards.

He also wrote the music to the Toy Story CD-ROMS, and has produced work for The Royal Air Force, Shell, Ferrari and Ford.

His music has also appeared on NBC's Saturday Night Live and in the film Domino, starring Keira Knightley and Mickey Rourke.

Some of his other film work includes movies with Jason Connery, Brian Blessed and Oliver Reed.

He has also been awarded the Ampex Golden Reel Award and a BMI Composer Award - previous recipients of which have included John Lennon and Eminem.
