The STEPS into Health and Social Care: Schools project was set up through a partnership between the NHS, socail care employers and education organisations. The aims of the programme are to:

Support the progression and attainment of young people in education.

Provide high-quality work placements within health organisations.

Provide access to a 'Coach' from within the NHS to support and encourage NHS students in realising their potential.

Raise awareness of the career and employment opportunities within the health and social care sector particularly the NHS.

We have worked with the 主播大秀 Learning Project Manager for North East & Cumbria on this project by organising four STEPS schools to work with older people to record thier stories on the 主播大秀 Website. The students will also be researching health issues during the war and comparing them with health today. This information can be used across a number of subject areas within the national curriculum.

The schools involved are Heaton Manor High in Newcastle, Marden High in North Shields, Southmoor High in Sunderland and Prudhoe High in Northumberland.

We are sure that the students from each school will benefit enormously from working with the older people on this project.
