I was called up on 15th July 1939 at Dudley into the Worcestershire Regiment. Trained at Norton Barracks, transferred to 'C' Company at Marlborough.
Sent to France and joined 2nd Division. Escaped from France via Cherbourg, June 1940.
Defense work at Yorkshire, Hull and Ripon, and at the end of 1941 whole division moved to Adlestrop & Daylesford.
April 1942 embarked from Liverpool for Bombay.
March 1944 moved to Assam and then into Burma.
