Family Cooking Showdown - series two

Family Cooking Showdown - the competitive food show that celebrates the families who make ordinary food extraordinary - is back.

Published: 10 October 2018

Over three weeks, 16 family teams will battle it out in the Showdown studio kitchen. They’ll face a series of challenges based on the realities of family cooking, and they’ll be judged by presenters Angellica Bell - herself a Celebrity Masterchef winner and cookbook author - and Tommy Banks, Britain’s youngest ever Michelin-starred chef.

In each episode the family teams will be given two tasks: one that they’ll have had time to practice at home, the other a complete surprise, testing their collective ability to work together and think on their feet.

The series will return to 主播大秀 Two with an increased order of 14 episodes in a new slot of 7pm. The new series will be filmed in Wales and it is being made by Voltage Wales, the recently-opened Cardiff-based production base for factual indie Voltage TV.

Family Cooking Showdown was commissioned for 主播大秀 Two by Patrick Holland, Controller of 主播大秀 Two and David Brindley, Head of Popular Factual. The Executive Producers at Voltage TV are Sanjay Singhal and Kathleen Larkin. The Commissioning Editor for the 主播大秀 is Catherine Catton.

Angellica Bell

The reigning champion of 主播大秀 One’s Celebrity MasterChef, Angellica’s intelligence, wit and warmth shine through every time.

With 17 years of network TV experience under her belt, she has emerged as a significant presenter of factual and entertainment programmes, including Ill Gotten Gains (主播大秀 One), 50/50 (C主播大秀), Something For The Weekend (主播大秀 Two) and many more. She has also been a part of The One Show since its inception as a reporter and with regular stand-ins as a main presenter.

Tommy Banks

Born and raised in Oldstead, North Yorkshire, into a family of farmers, chef Tommy Banks’s passion for food and nature flourished from a young age.

Tommy’s family bought The Black Swan just as he finished school and he started working there with no real intention of becoming a chef, but by 2013, at the age of 24, Tommy was awarded a Michelin Star - making him the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain at the time.
