Gordon Buchanan’s Bringing Up Grizzly

Gordon travels to the snowy Russian wilderness to help return six orphaned bear cubs back to the wild in a heart warming two-part Christmas special.

Around the world each winter, thousands of baby grizzly bears are left orphaned after their mothers are killed or frightened away by humans. But can these hand-reared predators ever be safely returned to the wild? Starting in winter and over the course of one year, Gordon will live with a remarkable Russian family to find out.

For 25 years the Pazhetnov family have devoted their lives to help release orphaned bears and this year Gordon will join them.
Tending to the bears every need he will become a surrogate parent to the cubs. Bottle feeding them every four hours, teaching them how to climb, how to forage and even how to swim, before releasing them into the wild to fend for themselves.

Can this years youngsters be safely reared and rehabilitated? What Gordon learns may change our perception of bears forever. But is it too late for this feared predator, in a land where conservation and hunting go head to head?

Mountain Vets

This six-part series invites you to the ancient Kingdom of Mourne, where animals out number people ten to one, and where no two days are the same for the busy mountain vets.

Rising up from lakeshore lowlands to Mountain peaks, the Mourne area is well known for its stunning natural beauty and traditional country life - and it is here we will follow the work of nine mountain vets, several nurses and stable hands in three very different vet practices, observing as they care for a diverse range of animals in clinics, on farms and smallholdings. From old-hand to new recruits working together, the three practices cover the whole Mourne Mountain area, responding to over 100 clinic cases and call outs a day.

From a rare five-legged calf to emergency surgery on a horse, overweight cats and rescued seals, the doors are constantly revolving with an array of unusual and unexpected cases for the vets to treat. And though things might not always go according to plan and tragedies do happen, the Mountain Vets do everything they can for the animals in their care.

A new 主播大秀 Wales and 主播大秀 Two co-commission will cast four families back in time to survive the extremities of the water, weather and working, in one of the most dangerous jobs possible at the beginning of the 20th century.

Set on the beautiful remote island of Llanddwyn in Anglesey, this living history project will see four families live as a fishing community in the early 1900s. The families will travel back in time to live in the original cottages on Llanddwyn, and will learn the necessary skills to make a living from fishing in the challenging waters of the Menai Straights and the Irish Sea. The series promises to bring the rugged coastline, the beautiful backdrops and the unique sense of community to life.

Great British Menu will return for 2019 and - for the first time ever - the nation’s top professional chefs will compete for the coveted ‘Champion of Champions’ title in a brand new kitchen in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This series will celebrate British Pop Music on the 50th anniversary of the last live gig performed by The Beatles, with chefs cooking themed dishes to celebrate the artistic contribution of British pop music over the last half-century. Back in charge of picking the perfect four-course menu are judges Andi Oliver, Oliver Peyton OBE and Matthew Fort.

Helping the judges to select the winning dishes are guest judges who represent the incredible range of talent over the last 50 years of British Pop. They include Reverend Richard Coles, formerly of The Communards; Pete Waterman, pop mogul and part of writing partnership Stock, Aitken and Waterman; Gary ‘Mani’ Manfield, formerly of The Stone Roses, and new talent Benjamin Gerald Coyle-Larner, aka Loyle.
