Soloists

The array of outstanding soloists includes pianists Yefim Bronfman (31 August), Imogen Cooper (16 July), Nelson Freire (15 August), Joanna MacGregor (26 July & 4 August) and Murray Perahia (7 September) and violinists Tasmin Little (29 July & 23 August), Christian Tetzlaff (4 September), Nikolaj Znaider (1 September) and Nicola Benedetti, who appears three times, including the Last Night of the Proms (5, 13 August & 8 September).

Flautist Sir James Galway makes a welcome return to the Proms for his first appearance since 1999, performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 2 in D major (4 August), while clarinettist Michael Collins also performs Mozart, the Clarinet Concerto, in a concert with the 主播大秀 Symphony Orchestra under Osmo Vänskä (20 August).

Two world-renowned singers open and close the season: Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel sings Delius’s Sea Drift on the First Night (13 July); and Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja performs four operatic arias and leads the traditional audience singalong on the Last Night (8 September). Other leading vocalists include mezzo-sopranos Sarah Connolly (13 July & 1 August) and Alice Coote (16 July, 10 & 18 August), soprano Anne Schwanewilms (17 July), bass-baritone Jonathan Lemalu (31 July) and tenor Toby Spence (9 & 11 August).

Organist Cameron Carpenter makes his Proms debut and gives two solo organ recitals (1 & 2 September).
