You Shake My Nerves - The Jerry Lee Lewis Story

As 主播大秀 Radio 6 Music celebrates rock 'n' roll, another chance to hear this programme, first broadcast in 2005, which looks back on the eventful life of Jerry Lee Lewis.

As well as Jerry Lee himself, contributors include sister Linda Gail Lewis, ex-wife Myra Gail Lewis, biographer Charles White, Cowboy Jack Clement (the man who discovered him), Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum, Tom Jones, Cliff Richard, Hank Marvin, Joe Brown, film director Taylor Hackford, record producer Marshall Chess and others.

Tom Jones recalls: "The first time I heard Jerry Lee Lewis was in 1957. I was walking through Pontypridd, where I come from in South Wales with some of my friends, and we were talking about rock and roll and all of a sudden Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On comes out of the loudspeaker outside of the record shop, and my friend said "Is that what you're talking about?" And I said, "that's exactly what I'm talking about!""
