In the penultimate episode, the podcast team make an extraordinary discovery in a graveyard in Belize, leading them to fundamentally question the FBI’s overall approach to the whole case.
Back home further exploration of the historic files sheds new light on just how many missed opportunities there were in the initial investigation, and criticisms are levelled at both British Interpol and the FBI.
The findings are presented to the head of the cold case unit of Greater Manchester Police, who is scathing in his criticism of UK Interpol’s failure to solve the case.
