6 Music Recommends
This is a special week of music as 6 Music Recommends celebrates the best tracks released so far this year.
In their Recommends shows across the week (Mon-Thurs, midnight -1am), Lauren Laverne, Tom Ravenscroft, Mary Anne Hobbs and Steve Lamacq will be digging into their record boxes to pull out some of the finest cuts of 2019, presenting an hour of the best tunes that have featured in their Recommends shows in first six months of the year.
And in the daytime shows, presenters will be featuring tracks they’ve been loving this year. Plus, continuing to champion new music, there will be live sessions from Jordan Rakei and Kate Tempest in Mary Anne Hobbs’ show this week and from Black Midi on Lamacq’s show.
Rounding off the week, the 6 Music Recommends New Music Playlist (Sunday 23 June, 2-3am) will be curated with music selected from the presenters’ choices.
