In pictures: Zara's romance with rugby's Mike Tindall
Zara Phillips, granddaughter of the Queen, first met rugby union World Cup winner Mike Tindall in 2003, and a determinedly low-key romance followed.
Mr Tindall says he has learned to accept the press attention, and the couple are mainly photographed when appearing together at sporting events, including the 2005 Cheltenham Festival.
In 2006, Zara Phillips won an individual gold at the World Equestrian Games. She was named a contender for 主播大秀 Sports Personality of the Year, one competition she never thought she would win.
But a third of the voting public backed the 12th in line to the throne and an "amazed" Zara Phillips scooped the trophy 35 years after her mother, the Princess Royal, had received the same award.
Mr Tindall has met his future family, often in the surroundings of Buckingham Palace. In 2007, he was by Zara's side when she collected her MBE for services to equestrianism from the Queen.
In May 2008, Zara Phillips was one of six bridesmaids at the wedding of her older brother Peter Phillips to his Canadian bride, Autumn Kelly, in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Zara Phillips' cousin, Prince William, got engaged to his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton, two months ago.
And on 20 December, after seven years together, Mike Tindall proposed to Zara Phillips at their Gloucestershire home, and she said '"yes". No date has yet been set for the wedding.
