It's the big one - our favourite local acts of 2008! The entire team voted - Rigsy, Paul McClean, Warren Bell and Paul Hamill from ATL with contributers Johnny, Paul, William, Joe, Stu, Kev, Emma-Rose and Orla. Everyone was encouraged to construct their chart based on new tracks released (even if they were just on Myspace) and live performances, while also considering anything else a band may have done to impress. Votes for signed acts like Duke Special, Snow Patrol, David Holmes, Oppenheimer, Alloy Mental, Fighting With Wire and Foy Vance were not counted. As you can see, LaFaro have finally been knocked off top spot (after holding it for two years) by Andsoiwatchyoufromafar, who end an astonishing twelve months as ATL's band of the year. Kudos to The Lowly Knights, The Japanese Popstars, Cutaways, Not Squares, Here Comes the Landed Gentry, RL/VL, Escape Act and A Plastic Rose who all make the chart for the first time.
