Gig
Biffy Clyro
You have to wonder if Biffy know what to expect as they take Mandela's stage. At once the entire hall goes wild. An immediate mosh pit appears front stage, with the Californian beach of crowd-surfing kicking in, and carrying throughout the entire set. Biffy are on fire tonight, and with their work ethic it's no surprise.

No crazy front-man antics, no cheesy gimmicks, just full on, out of this world, pure rock. It's rare to see a band perform their songs live as pristine and polished as their recorded counterparts, but Biffy pull it off time and time again. The tracks that stand out tonight are 'Blackened Sky' and 'Wave upon Wave' with Simon Neil quieting to let he crowds carry the choruses of these songs, and the new 'Semi-Mental' creating a great stir amongst the fans.

In what seemed like no time at all, the set was over and Biffy leave the stage. An air of anticipation settles on the crowd, but after about two minutes of waiting we are treated to overtime, with their encore exploding open with 'Bodies in Flight' and giving us just the measure needed to make this a night to remember.

Having witnessed every UK tour Biffy Clyro have been on, they're definitely going from strength to strength, and with the signing to a new Record Label (14th Floor), a new album on the way and a perfect start to their Kerrang! tour, 2007 is shaping up to be their biggest year yet.
