It's four fun-filled days of excellent local and national music. For a flavour of just how exciting it all was, check out the video report. This year's free festival on South Bay beach had two music stages, with the smaller Truck Stage introducing the very best in local talent including the likes of The Pieces, The Occasion and Craig Blair playing over the weekend. The main stage was a non-stop source of entertainment, with over 30 acts playing over Saturday and Sunday. Headliners Nine Black Alps and Alabama 3 both proved to be the perfect bands to close the main stage each evening, as hundreds gathered on the sands to see them.  Frank Turner on Saturday Beached Festival veteran acts like Gun Law and Livingston provided impressive sets and the perfect sounds to get people dancing, while local favourites like Fuzzgun Sniper gave a performance for other local acts to aspire to. Signs of such talent came from this years Beached Academy students, who took to the stage on Sunday morning with a mix of lively bands, talented singer-songwriters, and excellent MC’s to impressing the early enthusiastic crowd. The weekend also saw the very best in national talents play the festival – up-and-coming bands Foals and Dartz! displayed the future sounds of music, while Essex band InMe played to hundreds of excited fans as the sun set on the horizon. The Pistolas became festival favourites for many over the weekend with their infectious electro funk-punk sound and entertainingly energetic performance on stage, with most of the large crowd paddling as they danced due to the incoming tide.  The festival's main stage Sunday also saw act after act of true talent, with the likes of The Dykeenies, The Hoosiers and Kharma 45 all providing incredible sets and the perfect dancing soundtrack with which to enjoy the weekend’s sunshine. There was a mini Manchester invasion with up-and-coming acts Them Next Door, The Drainpipes, and The Paddingtons stirring up the crowd from the stage, while Amy MacDonald calmed the chaos with her unique voice and song writing style. Sand, sea and superb sounds, this years Beached Festival combined everything that summer should be about, bringing together incredible music with a fantastic crowd, amazing atmosphere, and truly unique setting.
