Sports Personality of the Year 2002 - voting opens
From
the Winter Olympics to the World Cup, the Commonwealth Games to
Wimbledon and the Ryder Cup, the country's top sports men and women
have been working hard throughout this successful year of sport.
Now
it's up to the fans to vote for their 2002 主播大秀 Sports Personality
of the Year.
The
coveted award has always captured the nation's imagination and last
year it was David Beckham's turn to take the mantle.
On
Sunday 8 December, Gary Lineker, Sue Barker and Steve Rider present
the star studded event live on 主播大秀 ONE at 8.00pm from the 主播大秀's
Television Centre.
The
likes of Lennox Lewis, Sven Goran Eriksson, Arsene Wenger, Paula
Radcliffe and Sam Torrance will be there to celebrate a fantastic
year of sport.
And
this year, for the first time ever, the final number of votes will
be made public. Viewers
will learn how many other like-minded fans voted for their Sports
Personality.
The
bookies may have already made Paula Radcliffe the odds on favourite,
but only the viewers can decide whether they think David Beckham,
Dwain Chambers, Colin Montgomerie or Tony McCoy are more deserving.
Voting
will be open from 9.00am on Saturday 16 November until midnight
on Thursday 5 December.
The
top five nominations will then go through to a live phone poll during
the programme.
