The Beach - Greetings from Studland Bay, one of Britain's finest beaches!

A postcard from Studland Bay

Studland Bay is a true treasure in the Trust's trove - home to miles of golden, sandy beaches and the Bankes' Estate; 8,000 acres of prime Dorset land with the Georgian jewel of Kingston Lacey Manor at its heart.

But it is also home to a huge headache for the Trust - dogowners, yachtsmen, horseriders, café owners and nudists all pitched into conflict with each other against the National Trust.

Julian Ö÷²¥´óÐãr is the Trust's affable, open property manager for the area. He has the somewhat troublesome problem of an eroding beach on his hands – "I've got less and less beach and more and more people coming to it…and I've got to do something about it…"

Unfortunately for him certain villagers disagree with his diagnosis - and solutions.

For some, Julian himself is the big problem. For others the list of gripes ranges from financial issues to the slow destruction of the beach itself.

Meanwhile, convinced that the Trust are trying to get him and his fellow nudists off the beach, Barry Freeman rallies the troops for a clothes-free protest march across the sandy shores.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã FOUR explores the intricate negotiating processes that often entangle the Trust as it engages with the man on the street and tracks the battle that ensues as members of a disgruntled local community take on Britain's biggest landowner.
