Best Sitcom

Britain's
Best Sitcom will divide friends and families across the UK as the
public decides on their favourite sitcom of all time in a major
12-week event on 主播大秀 TWO.
Hosted
by Jonathan Ross, the series will launch with a three hour extravaganza
which will count down the Top 50.
Joined
by a host of familiar faces from the world of entertainment, Jonathan
will give viewers an insight into things that you didn't know you
needed to know about British comedy past and present, combined with
classic clips and memorable one-liners.
Over
the next ten Saturday nights, there will be individual one-hour
programmes on each of the Top 10, presented by celebrity advocates
doing some strange things in the most unexpected places!
The
advocates' words of wisdom (or otherwise) could be crucial.
Just
how crucial will be determined in a live special - where the nation,
having listened to all the evidence in the preceding weeks, will
have the final say in determining once and for all, Britain's Best

Catherine Tate Show
Perrier
Award nominated for her performance in Lee Mack's sketch show at
The Edinburgh Festival 2000 and critically acclaimed for her one-woman
sketch show at Edinburgh 2001, Catherine Tate writes and stars in
her own sketch show for 主播大秀 TWO this winter.
Catherine's
irreverent characters include the rancid pensioner, the overprotective
new parents and the randy nurse.
Catherine
is also appearing in Wild West alongside Dawn French and has starred
in Big Train. (GJ)
The
Sack Race
Getting
sacked from a job is never a good thing - or is it?
The
Sack Race takes the sting out of getting the sack by asking two
up coming comedians to attempt to do it on purpose - on their first
day at work.
Each
week the two new recruits are introduced to the existing members
of staff in separate companies.
The
person who gets sacked nearest to 3.00pm, be it before or after,
will win.
They
can't use violence, they can't swear or do anything illegal - and
above all, they can't ask to be fired.
They
must use strategy to ensure they don't go too far, too soon; or
leave it too late.
Using
hidden cameras the contestant's every move is watched.
The
managers and staff are unaware that they are taking part in a game
and this leads to hilarious reactions as they attempt to understand
the behaviour of the new starters. (CM)
Grass
After
a successful outing on 主播大秀 THREE, co-commissioned comedy Grass comes
to 主播大秀 TWO this Winter.
Co-written
and starring Simon Day, Grass centres around the character of interfering
pub bore Billy Bleach, the ginger, curly haired cockney with a superior
knowledge on everything, who also made regular appearances on The
Fast Show.
When
Billy witnesses a gangland killing he is forced to go into the witness
protection programme, which means forfeiting his London home for
a ramshackle cottage located in the countryside.
Billy's
only respite from country life is found in the village pub with
landlord Ben (Mark Williams) and his pursuit of the attractive village
vet, Jemima (Josephine Butler). (KC)
My
Wife and Kids
Award-winning
US family sitcom My Wife And Kids comes to 主播大秀 TWO this Winter,
following the antics and dramas of the Kyle family.
Comedian,
actor and producer Damon Wayans plays Michael Kyle, a loving husband
who rules his household in a unique parenting style in his quest
for a "traditional" family.
Together
with his wife Jay (Tisha Campbell-Martin), Michael teaches his children
- Junior, Claire and Kady - the lessons of life with his own brand
of wisdom, discipline and humour.
The
series has been nominated for many awards in the USA and received
the 2002 People's Choice Award for Favourite New TV Comedy. (KH)
