Radio 1 has
revealed the details for its In New Music We Trust DJ Tour.
听
The tour will have 16 dates and will visit several cities
and university campuses across the UK throughout October and November.
听
The tour will be split into two parts beginning with
the Specialist DJ Tour and finishing with a series of gigs hosted
by Zane Lowe.
听
Both tours are designed to showcase the best in new
music that each musical genre has to offer.
听
The tours will be stripped across the week with each
DJ's gig taking place at the time their show is broadcast on air to
help cement the new times in people's minds.
听
Specialist DJ Tour
The tour is based around four different timeslots: 7.00-9.00pm, 9.00聳11.00pm,
11.00pm-1.00am and 1.00-3.00am.
听
Spread over 12 dates from Friday 29 October to Saturday
20 November, the dates will feature a selection of Radio 1's established
specialist DJs like Pete Tong, Tim Westwood and Gilles
Peterson, alongside some of the newer faces like Bobby Friction
& Nihal and Annie Mac.
听
Zane Lowe Tour
Following the schedule changes at the end of July, Zane Lowe's show
was given an extra day and an earlier start time (7.00-9.00pm, Monday聳Thursday).
听
His tour will cover four dates from Monday 22 to Thursday
25 November, venues and line ups will be confirmed shortly but each
gig will feature a new band that Zane has been supporting on the show.
听
Ian Parkinson, Head Of Specialist and Speech, Radio
1, said: "We wanted to find a way of getting our new shows out
on the road and a DJ tour with Zane and his colleagues seemed like the
best idea.
听
"It also gives our listeners a chance to meet the
DJs and to get a feel for what the shows are about."

The In New Music We Trust DJ tour is part of a new marketing campaign
that highlights the breadth and depth of Radio 1's specialist music
offering following the recent changes to its line up.
听
The push will also include a national poster campaign,
TV and radio trails. The campaign begins on 16 October and will continue
through until early December.
