Radio 4 listeners head for Ambridge-on-Line

主播大秀 Radio 4 welcomed 1.8 million visitors to its website in October, fuelled by massive
interest in whether Ruth Archer would consummate her relationship with Sam the herdsmen
in the 15,000th episode of The Archers.

The Archers clocked up almost a million on-demand listening requests via the 主播大秀 Radio
Player during the month - topping the 主播大秀 online table for a 23rd consecutive month.

Radio 4 also led the weekly 主播大秀 podcast chart, with In Our Time usurping Chris Moyles to
become the most downloaded weekly 主播大秀 podcast.

Melvyn Bragg's exploration of the history
of ideas was downloaded almost 600,000 times during October.

主播大秀 Radio websites were visited by 8.8 million unique user agents last month - a year-on-year increase of more than a million.

Between them, they generated a record 13 million on-demand listening requests (via the 主播大秀 Radio Player) and downloaded an unprecedented
5.9 million 主播大秀 podcasts.
