Radio Nottingham's double celebration!

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Nottingham has seen a significant jump in the number of people tuning into the station, with an extra 37,000 listeners compared to this time last year, according to the latest figures released today by RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research) – which coincide with the station's 40th birthday celebrations.

The RAJAR figures show that 203,000 people listen to the station each week in the Nottinghamshire region, which is an increase in audience reach of 22%.

The strong set of results comes on the day that Radio Nottingham celebrates its 40th anniversary with a range of special programmes, features and guest appearances to mark the day it first hit the airwaves on 31 January 1968.

Sophie Stewart, Editor, Radio Nottingham, says: "We've added another 37,000 listeners since last year and as a result we now have an audience of over 200,000 people tuning into the station, which is absolutely brilliant.

"These fantastic RAJAR figures are an extra special and timely birthday present for Radio Nottingham, coming on the very day when we celebrate our 40 year anniversary."

Radio Nottingham was among the original eight regional stations set up by the Ö÷²¥´óÐã. The others are in Leicester, Sheffield, Merseyside, Stoke, Brighton (now Southern Counties Radio), Durham (now Cumbria) and Leeds.
