Ö÷²¥´óÐã presenter line-up for T in the Park 2009 announced

Edith Bowman

Edith Bowman is set to return to Scotland’s fabulous festival, T in the Park, to present the best of the weekend’s live music on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland.

Co-hosting with Edith on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three will be fellow Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1 favourites Reggie Yates and Nick Grimshaw. Popular Radio 1 and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland presenter Vic Galloway is set to join Edith on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One Scotland and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two Scotland, while newcomer Matt Edmondson will report from across the festival site for all three channels.

The three-day sell-out event which takes place in Balado, Kinross-shire, has an impressive line-up of top acts for 2009 including Main Stage headliners Kings of Leon, The Killers, Blur and Snow Patrol as well as other big name performers such as Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Nine Inch Nails, Keane, The View, Manic Street Preachers and Pet Shop Boys, amongst many more.

Music lovers who aren't going to the festival will be treated to three days of live performance from the ever-popular extravaganza which brings together more than 85,000 music fans to watch live acts across nine stages over the magical weekend. Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three will devote over ten hours of on-air time to T in the Park coverage, packing in a feast of live music and interviews.

Armchair audiences are in for an extra special treat this year with the introduction of the new Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three InTimate Stage, which will feature backstage acoustic performances and unique collaborations between some of the acts featured at the festival, performed exclusively for the Ö÷²¥´óÐã audience.

Edith Bowman said: "T in the Park is like home from home for me and I'm utterly thrilled to be involved again this year. Once again it's getting bigger and better, and I'm particularly excited about the addition of the special Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three InTimate acoustic stage which is being set up in the artist area. This means that people who haven't got tickets to the event will get a unique experience to see some of the bands doing special one-off performances – and maybe even some collaborations – from the comfort of their own homes."

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Alba will also be covering T in the Park, with special shows including festival highlights as well as performances from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three InTimate stage. These shows will be broadcast on both Saturday and Sunday evenings between 6.00 and 7.30pm, presented by Calum MacAulay and Siobhan MacInnes.

Key music moments from this year's event will also feature on Radio 1, Radio Scotland, online and interactive.

The popular red button service will be back with more choice than ever before, offering up to four different channels of performances from the festival.

This service can be accessed by pressing red whilst watching any Ö÷²¥´óÐã channel, and is available on Friday evening and from late afternoon on Saturday and Sunday through until midnight each day. Live video coverage, highlights and exclusive content will feature online at bbc.co.uk/tinthepark, where performances will be available for a full week following the event.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing also makes its T in the Park debut this year, showcasing 22 up-and-coming artists and bands from around the UK, including local talent.

The first Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing stage was at Glastonbury 2007, and it is now present at key UK music festivals throughout the year. Plus, there is a network of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing shows on Radio 1, Ö÷²¥´óÐã 1Xtra, Ö÷²¥´óÐã 6 Music, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Asian Network and across more than 30 local Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio stations.

Musicians can upload their music at bbc.co.uk/introducing for the possible opportunity of being broadcast on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio, which could lead to a slot on one of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing stages. More info at bbc.co.uk/introducing – line-up to be revealed soon.

People elsewhere in the UK can view Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland's coverage on digital satellite. Please note that both Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland's footage will also be available via the Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer service.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Alba is available on Sky channel 168 and on Freesat channel 110.
