Ö÷²¥´óÐã Northern Ireland launches search for House Of The Year

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen

Is your house beautiful and does it deserve to be on TV? If so Ö÷²¥´óÐã Northern Ireland wants to hear from you as it launches a search for House Of The Year.

They're looking for living spaces of every size and style. Size isn't important, it's about how you've used the space, inside and out, and whether or not it feels like a home.

The series will feature homes across Northern Ireland, presented by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, a man who knows a thing or two when it comes to fabulous design.

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen said: "Where you live says so much about who you are, how you feel about yourself and how you'd like to be seen by other people.

"This competition is a fabulous opportunity to show off just how good you are at home making.

"I'll be looking for homes that ooze personality and idiosyncratic charm and, who knows, there might even be marks off for magnolia."

Feargal O'Kane, series producer, added: "There are so many beautiful houses across Northern Ireland now and this is a fantastic opportunity to show them off to the nation.

"It's a rare chance to have a top designer like Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen visit your home, along with industry experts, so you'll definitely get something out of the experience.

"There's an Individual Merit Award, which all featured homeowners are eligible to win, whether or not they make it to the final."

No matter how large or small, modern or traditional, from a mid-terrace to a stately home, if you think your home has got what it takes to be House Of The Year then why not fill out an application form?

Anyone applying must be over 18 and resident in Northern Ireland. If you are not the house owner you must have the owner's written permission to enter.

Entry forms are available online from the House Of The Year website, from Monday 3 August, by logging on to bbc.co.uk/houseoftheyear or by writing to: House Of The Year Competition, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Broadcasting House, Belfast, BT2 8HQ.

Closing date for entries is midnight on Monday 31 August 2009.
