Ö÷²¥´óÐã

The legendary radio presenter Tony Blackburn will be standing in for Judi Spiers on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Devon on Monday 28 September, when Judi takes a well-earned day off.

Tony Blackburn started his career in broadcasting on the pirate radio station Radio Caroline South, and booked his place in broadcasting history when he was the first DJ on air at the launch of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 1 in September 1967.

Tony's parents are from Poole in Dorset and he was educated at Millfield Public School in Somerset.

Listeners will have the chance to phone-in and chat to Tony as he takes on Judi's regular mix of live guests, live music and listeners' calls.

Tony says: "I'm really looking forward to visiting the South West. It brings back great memories from the Sixties and Seventies when I used to do my Roadshows in Plymouth and all round the area. It is one of my favourite counties as it has beautiful areas.

"What I'm looking forward to the most is sharing some music and chat with listeners to Radio Devon – and maybe buying some clotted cream."

The Judi Spiers Show goes out on Radio Devon, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-12.00noon.

Radio Devon broadcasts across the county on 103.4 and 95.7 FM.
