Radio Scotland tunes into remarkable women – Kaye Adams starts first week with revelations of lives less ordinary

Leading on from the station's favourite wake-up call – Good Morning Scotland – popular presenter Kaye Adams starts with Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland tomorrow with her new show, Call Kaye, bringing a human touch to the stories making the news.

In her first week, Kaye will delve into what drives extraordinary women in Scotland.

From one young woman who has spent six weeks in Haiti digging toilets for earthquake refugees, to another battling through breast cancer with only the determination to be a mother, Kaye's discussions with two incredible women are set to stimulate hearts and minds for the days ahead.

In addition to this, the inspiring Nicola Benedetti will be speaking about nurturing musical talent in Scotland.

Call-in themes will be determined throughout the week but one, in particular, will be examining the power of women's votes and what will be turning on decisions.

Kaye's new show will be followed at 10.00am with the ever popular MacAulay And Co when Fred MacAulay – who has just returned from performing in LA, where he was a guest on Craig Ferguson's popular Late Late Show – kicks off a busy week including chats with Mark Beaumont, Carol Vorderman, Phil Daniels, David Walliams and Edwyn Collins.

The mood then settles down to a series of stimulating conversation pieces delivered over the next few weeks by key presenters such as Muriel Gray and Sanjeev Kholi.

Brian Taylor's Big Debate will be leading listeners into, and through, their lunch on Friday, with gripping discussion from the political stalwart himself, his panel of experts and local audiences from around the country.

Altogether, the morning schedule on Radio Scotland is set to provide a staple diet of news, views and a morning muse for listeners across counties and generations.

Talking about the new show, Head of Radio, Scotland, Jeff Zycinski, said: "Call Kaye is a result of many months of listening to our audience.

"We have taken on the views of our listeners and have put together a programme for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland, which focuses on content to engage the interest of family members around the country.

"Recent programmes such as Lorraine Kelly's Forgive And Forget, Kaye Adams's So Who's Got The Children and our January motivation series of programmes, which have heard presenters buddy with listeners to overcome challenges in unison, have brought the raw edges of experience and emotion to our airwaves, which we hope has helped many listeners to share and learn through very trying situations.

"This type of programme, coupled with the intelligence behind the news, and an ample dose of good Scottish humour, is what we are hoping will give our listeners a choice of strong content designed to tune both body and mind."
