Ö÷²¥´óÐã

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland has unveiled a wide-ranging line-up of content across television, radio and online to provide audiences with in-depth and accessible coverage of the 2010 General Election.

The election team will be out and about across Scotland to engage with audiences and quiz the candidates as they vie for votes in the run-up to polling day on 6 May.

On the night of the election, Glenn Campbell will present detailed coverage on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One as the final chapter of the 2010 General Election story unfolds, while Derek Bateman will front an authoritative results progamme on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland.

Debates will form a central part of the coverage as Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland travels the length and breadth of the country and the election in Scotland can be followed for the first time online, minute-by-minute on Twitter.

There will be a leaders debate on Sunday 2 May from the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh, on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One, which will be simulcast on Radio Scotland.

Politics Scotland on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two will run debates on defence, on Wednesday 28 April, and on public spending on Monday 3 May, and the Politics Show will run on Sunday lunchtime throughout the campaign.

Newsnight Scotland on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two is being extended to half an hour from Monday 12 April for the duration of the campaign and the programme will finish its election run with a four party debate.

On Radio Scotland, Brian's Big Debate, with Political Editor, Brian Taylor, will broadcast four local hustings - Greenock, Kelso, Stornoway and Dundee. Brian will also host a hustings from Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland's headquarters at Pacific Quay, the day after the election, to digest the results.

On Call Kaye on Radio Scotland presenter Kaye Adams will host a grilling of senior party figures by members of the audience.

There will also be opt-out local radio hustings on Thursday 29 April on Radio Scotland's FM frequency. Cameron Buttle will anchor the debate from Selkirk, Willie Johnston from Dumfries, Colin Wight in Aberdeen and Ian Macdonald in Inverness. Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Orkney and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Shetland will also broadcast debates with candidates in their areas.
