Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Suffolk is announcing details of a county-wide car-boot sale extravaganza which aims to help raise funds for the East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) Treehouse Appeal.

The Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Suffolk Big Summer De-Clutter is taking place on Sunday 8 August, between 7am and 3pm, with a huge family event and massive car-boot sale at Trinity Park Showground, in Ipswich.

People are invited to attend, have fun, clear out some unwanted items and raise money for the EACH Treehouse Appeal. Any unwanted items left unsold on the day at Trinity Park, can be left there and will be recycled.

The car-boot sale idea was the brainchild of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Suffolk's James Hazell Show when producer Sally Burch revealed on-air how fed up she was with the amount of junk accumulating in her garage.

Sally and presenter James Hazell hit upon the idea of organising a mass car-boot sale and joined forces with staff at Trinity Park, car-boot sale organisers – Shandale, and the EACH fundraising office to formulate the Big Summer De-Clutter.

James says of the fund-raising idea: "This is a win-win situation. Guests on our show are always telling us that people need to de-clutter their lives. We can all do just that and make a substantial contribution to the East Anglia's Children’s Hospice Treehouse Appeal at the same time. It will also stop Sal whingeing about the state of her garage!"

Sally adds: "The Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Suffolk Big Summer De-Clutter is the perfect solution to all those hidden treasures that have been locked away in the loft or garage gathering dust."

The Big Summer De-Clutter is part of Radio Suffolk's ongoing efforts to raise £3 million for a new children's hospice for East Anglia's Children's Hospice. The charity cares for and supports life-threatened children and their families and prides itself on providing them with a home away from home.

The money is required to pay for construction work on a new, purpose-built hospice that will be able to cater for many more numbers of families than the current building allows.

Patsy Johnson, EACH capital appeal fundraiser, said: "The Big Summer De-Clutter is a great concept which will raise funds, bring people together and raise the profile of the East Anglia's Children's Hospice Treehouse Appeal across the region."

A total of 500 pitches are available at the Trinity Park Showground event at a cost of £10 each, with all proceeds going directly to the Treehouse Appeal. Pitches can be booked by contacting: 01473 276115 or emailing patsy.johnson@each.org.uk
