The Cheltenham Festival on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 5 Live

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 5 Live will have the latest news and live commentary from one of the highlights of the jump racing calendar, The Cheltenham Festival.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the prestigious meeting, which opens on Tuesday 15 March, and 5 Live's team including John Inverdale, Cornelius Lysaght and Clare Balding will be on hand throughout the week to capture the action live from the course.

5 Live's week-long Cheltenham Festival coverage gets under way on 14 March with Mark Chapman presenting a special edition of The Monday Night Club, live from Cheltenham Town Football Club. Mark will be joined by Monday night regulars John Motson, Steve Claridge and Ian McGarry, and from 8pm Gold Cup winning jockeys Mick Fitzgerald and Sam Thomas will join 5 Live's racing correspondent, Cornelius Lysaght, to look ahead to the week's racing.

On Tuesday 15 March, Gabby Logan will be live at the course as the centenary celebrations begin, talking to racegoers and soaking up the atmosphere from the opening day of the Festival.

As the racing action gets under way, John Inverdale, 1999 Gold Cup winner, Mick Fitzgerald and multiple champion jockey Peter Scudmore will deliver coverage of the latest Festival action and race commentary including the Champion Hurdle, the Queen Mother Chase and the World Hurdle.

On the closing day of the Festival, Friday 18 March, John Inverdale will be on air from 1pm with the day's news and race card information, plus build-up to and commentary of the week's feature race and one of racing's most fiercely challenged national hunt chases, the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
