Jump up and dance with CBeebies for Children in Need

Jump up and dance with CBeebies

CBeebies is encouraging viewers to "Jump up and Dance" for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Children in Need.

Jump Up and Dance is an idea that originated from CBeebies' presenter Cerrie Burnell as a way of raising money for this year's Appeal.

CBeebies want children to have a go at the song and dance routine and for parents/carers, community and nursery groups to raise money through sponsorship or donations.

Children can learn the dance moves by watching an instructional video with Cerrie, Sid and Pudsey on the CBeebies website, .

There's also a special music video featuring Pudsey and many of the loved CBeebies characters and presenters including Cerrie, Sid, Katy, Alex, Andy, Timmy, Justin Fletcher, Mr Bloom, ZingZillas, Bob the Builder, Little Charley Bear, Raa Raa, Rastamouse, Abney and Teal, Dipdap, Postman Pat, Teletubbies, Rosie & Raggles, Octonauts and Driver Dan.

Print and colour sheets of some of the characters such as the CBeebies spotty bug and Pudsey Bear doing the moves are available too.

For mums and dads, parents, carers and nursery groups who want to download the song and get ideas on how to raise money, there's information on the CBeebies Jump Up and Dance Grown-ups page: .

There are suggestions on staging performances of Jump Up and Dance and asking for donations, holding a sponsored Jump Up event or putting on a Jump Up and Dance party, using the song for musical statues and asking for a small donation to attend.

People can also send in pictures and stories of their fundraising to the CBeebies Facebook page www.facebook.com/cbeebies and via @CBeebiesHQ on Twitter.

Videos for sharing on Facebook and Twitter can be sent to CBeebies@bbc.co.uk with 'Jump Up and Dance' in the subject line and the CBeebiesHQ team will post them up.

Cerrie says: "However you Jump Up and Dance to raise money for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Children In Need we would love to hear about it, so please send in your pictures, and stories to us at CBeebies HQ."

Fundraising packs and resources are also available from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Children in Need website: .

Ideas and resources for pre-school are available in the schools section.

The Children in Need website also has other fundraising ideas and more information on this year's appeal.

About CBeebies

CBeebies is dedicated to delighting and surprising its young audience and it remains the UK's most watched and most loved channel for the under-sixes.

Almost half of the target audience tune in every week (parents and carers with children aged 0-3 and four- to six-year-olds in digital homes) with 55% saying it is one of their favourite channels. Our reach is around three times that of our nearest competitor.

Our most popular shows include In the Night Garden, I Can Cook With You, Something Special and Waybuloo. New shows this year include Rastamouse, Little Charley Bear, Mr Bloom's Nursery and a brand-new series for CBeebies' favourite Justin Fletcher, Justin's House.

The CBeebies website is also hugely popular with our young audience and their parents and helps extend the 'learning through play' philosophy. Last year it averaged at just under 800k unique users.

CBeebies has just been crowned BAFTA's Children's Channel of the Year and is also Freesat Children's Channel of the Year.
