Documentary about the Motion Picture Association of America's rating system and its effect on American culture.

Implemented in 1968, the system, with its age based content classification using letter grades G, PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17, has become a cultural icon. But behind its simple facade is a censoring process kept entirely secret, and the film's director Kirby Dick tries to uncover the identities of the ratings board members themselves.
