Jill Douglas introduces coverage of the UCI World Road Championships, which are taking place in Mendrisio in Switzerland. The success of Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish in this year's Tour de France has contributed to Britain being allowed a maximum allocation of nine riders in the men's race, their highest representation for two decades. In the women's race, Olympic champion Nicole Cooke will be aiming to defend her world title. Commentary from Hugh Porter and Rob Hayles.
