Joining Jools live in the studio are Mika and Gladys Knight. Plus performances from The Cribs, Shakira, The XX and The Duke and the King.

Joining Jools for the third show of this series is Mika, who originally made his TV debut on the show back in 2006 and went on to sell six million copies of his debut album. He performs numbers from the newly released follow-up The Boy Who Knew Too Much.

Legendary 'Empress of Soul' Gladys Knight, whose career spans 50 years and has taken in stints at Motown, Buddah, an array of Grammy Awards and owning a chain of chicken and waffle restaurants, is on the show to perform a number or two from her stellar back catalogue.

Wakefield's The Cribs, who, with new member Johnny Marr, have just released their brand new album Ignore The Ignorant, return to play tracks from that.

Colombian-born superstar Shakira is making her debut on the show, performing tracks from her upcoming album She Wolf.

Making their TV debut are hotly tipped Putney-based foursome The XX, whose self-titled debut was released to critical acclaim in August 2009. Finally, the lo-fi country-soul sound of trio The Duke and the King, three songwriting drummers from New York, who have discovered songwriting and harmony singing, and appear introducing their acclaimed debut album Nothing Gold Can Stay.
