Coverage of the Opening Ceremony from Delhi's 60,000-seater Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as the 19th Commonwealth Games gets under way in spectacular style. Athletes from 71 nations across the globe will be taking part in these Games over the next 11 days and, with India playing host for the first time, it promises to be a spectacular and colourful curtain-raiser to the competition proper.

One of the great traditions of the Commonwealth Games is the Queen's Baton Relay, which began on at Buckingham Palace on 29th October, 2009, and will have covered almost 120,000 miles and passed through many thousands of hands by the time its journey ends during the course of the opening ceremony.
