Tony talks about a 拢9,000 cap on student fees; whether it should be easier for bosses to sack staff; will Obama get a slap in the face from US voters? And why we love the French!

The Government's enterprise tsar says making it easier to sack employees will make it easier to hire them. As public sector job cuts start coming in, the private sector needs to pick up the slack. In the first half-hour, Tony asks if we need to relax employee protection to help the situation? Or are times like these exactly when we need workers' rights?

There's the breaking news that university tuition fees could almost treble to 拢9,000. We speak in the second half hour to all the big hitters from the NUS, the University and College Union, the Russell Group, and a university vice chancellor.

And we're joined throughout the programme by John Pienaar and Rhod Sharpe on Barack Obama and the Democrat's "trial" by mid terms. Will he get the threatened slap in the face from voters or will the real story be the advance of the Tea Party?
