Newcastle face their northeast rivals Sunderland for the first time since February 2009 following the Geordies' relegation to the Championship. Now back in the big time, they will be itching to get one over Steve Bruce's Black Cats, having failed to beat them in their last two encounters.

The day's other game sees Bolton host a struggling Liverpool side desperate to climb up the table following their shocking start to the season.
